The Camilo Cienfuegos International Clinic in the neighborhood of Vedado in Havana, is a hospital for international patients which specializes in the treatment of Retinitis Pigmentosa and other diseases of the eye such as diseases of the cornea, farsightedness and nearsightedness, and cataracts and glaucoma, myopia, hypermetropia, astigmatism, and keratoconus are commonly addressed at the center.

Professor Orfilio Pelaez Molina, MD, PhD, founded the Camilo Cienfuegos International Clinic in 1992 and recruited Cuba’s top eye specialists to join the original medical team.

The International Clinic offers the latest in equipment, technology and infrastructure in the care and treatment of the diseases of the eye. In addition, international patients can receive treatment in gynecology, urology, neurology, gastroenterology, allergy-immunology, nephrology, and general surgery.

There is 24 hour emergency service, cafeteria and an on-site pharmacy.

Patients and relatives stay in the hospital during treatment in one of the Center’s 70 guest rooms which feature private bathroom, air-conditioning, cable TV, minibar and in-room telephone as well as a variety of healthy and delicious meals served in the Clinic’s restaurant.
