Situated on 10 hectors of land in the La Lisa district of Havana is the Frank Pais Orthopedic Hospital, the leading orthopedic center in Cuba which treats Cuban athletes and dancers for sports or dance related injuries.
The Frank Pais Orthopedic Hospital specializes in the treatment of all orthopedic disease and trauma. The Hospital serves both Cuban and international patients. Each year, this orthopedic institution treats about 60,000 Cubans and approximately 550 foreign patients. One of its major successes is its Sports Traumatology Center located within the hospital.
On the hospital grounds, there are also three hotels, rehabilitation areas, sauna facilities, a swimming pool, and ground areas for practicing sports like basketball, golf and tennis. In total, the Frank Pais Orthopedic Hospital has 750 beds and 28 operating rooms with three operating units. Orthopedic prosthesis are also conveniently made on location at the hospital.
